May 19, 2007 [mobile PCs (Tablet PC, mini-PC, ...)] | By Edward J. R.
End of rumors and it is official now: yet in year 2007 a Tablet PC from Dell is coming! Recently Dell has discontinued Windows Mobile PDAs but instead Dell is entering Tablet PC market now.
Apparently this new Tablet PC is designed for "education, healthcare and corporate market place" and features:
this Tablet PC is from "Latitude" series what means on one hand enteprise market as target market for this device (higher prices, but higher quality of the device too) and on the other hand probably it will work with Latidute series accessories.
"pen and touch interface" is mentioned what probably (not 100% certain) means that this Tablet PC will support both digitizer and touch scren in one device (like MultiTouch in IBM Lenovo Tablet PC notebooks) as input method
fingerprint sensor is visible - another sign of higher price and enteprise market positioning
