HTC Kaiser (pre) review published

This Windows Mobile phone with touch screen would be perfect if only it would have (at least) VGA display! Now that Toshiba and E-TEN are offering small-size Windows Mobile phones with touch screen and VGA resolution (640x480, but Toshiba offers even more: 800x480) it seems a little bit strange that HTC - the market leader in Windows Mobile phones - is not putting VGA display to regular (or smaller) size devices...
Here are some highlights about HTC Kaiser:
- scroll-wheel! yes, after HTC TyTN this phone is second phone from HTC that also has genuine scroll-wheel - just like BlackBerry phones
- auto-focus! yes, after HTC Advantage this phone is second phone from HTC that also has auto-focus what means much sharper photos
- unique mechanical design with slide-out keyboard, where display can be tilted to face directly eyes of the user!
- 3 megapixel camera for taking photos and VGA camera for 3G video calling (part of UMTS standard)
- HSDPA with contemporary 3.6 megabit/second but also with HSUPA support (not available at all operators yet) what means: not just fast downloads but also ability to upload files with big speeds over cellular networks
- (the only weak point of this phone) QVGA resolution (240x320) display

Conclusion: let's face it: nobody can compete with Apple when it comes to stylish design, so the only chance of Windows Mobile camp to compete with Apple iPhone is: to compete with features! Clearly HTC Kaiser has a lot of to offer (GPS, 3G with HSUPA, not only HSDPA) but small resolution display is disappointing...
