HTC Touch GLOBAL launch event : full audio recording + photo impressions
June 06, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R.

Here we present full audio recording of this HTC Touch event, that you can find HERE (you can download it and listen off-line or listen from the embedded player)...

... and photo impressions from this event:

On image above you can see entrance to the club "Sound" that is located at Leicester Square in London, UK. The Global Launch event of HTC Touch phone took place there! Strangely the bouncer - that you can see on the photo above on the left side - instead of refusing entry was just asking people to go upstairs, where HTC event was taking place.

The most impressive thing at the venue of the event, before the presentations started, was Microsoft Surface - a special touch sensitive table that was recognizing that a phone was placed on it:

... and that offered real multi-touch experience (touching on more than one place is being detected and processed):

... but all in all this touch screen table with multi-touch:

... was just a scene for presentation of HTC phones!

On the other side of the room there was a bar with snacks and drinks:

The venue of the event actually is a dancing club by night, so one could see disc-jokey table (on the right side here):

The presentations started with short introduction by Roger Nelson - a founder and co-owner of Nelson Bostock Communications Compass House - a PR company that helped HTC to organize this event (big thanks to Emma Turner from this company for assistance!):

After Roger Nelson introduced Florin Seiche (a manager responsible at HTC for Europe, Middle East and Africa):

... the Florin Seiche promptly introduced the CEO of HTC, Peter Chou:

... who was speaking about history of HTC. After speech of Peter Chou a recording of Steve Ballmer holding a HTC Touch in his hand was played - so Steve Ballmer "joined the event virtually", but was not present on location obviously.

Peter Chou has introduced then John Wang - a CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) of HTC:

... who designed/developed HTC Touch and who was talking about HTC Touch in more detail.

Later also representatives from T-Mobile UK and Orange were present and they were talking warmly about cooperation with HTC.

After the phase with presentations a FAQ (questions and answers) session followed, where some difficult questions, including about comparisons with iPhone, were asked and answered!

Then, after end of presentations and FAQ, Peter Chou was, among others, posing for photos taken by Taiwanese photographers/journalists:

... and the "party phase" began, where people were freely socializing and chatting. In this phase we have managed to interview the inventor of HTC Touch and CMO of HTC - John Wang! In this interview we have even asked difficult questions ... so stay tuned ... particularly because this interview also reveals some future plans of HTC, discusses (yet secretive) HTC Shift, and explains some ideas behind HTC Touch!
