Office Mobile with support for Office 2007 file formats - released unofficially June 09, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. Since current Office Mobile - as it is now embedded in Windows Mobile 6 and Windows Mobile 5.0 devices - still doesn't support Office 2007 file formats (*.docx, *.pptx and *.xlsx) and although Microsoft has been promising release of an update that would fix this issue - still such update has not been released by Microsoft, so somebody decided to release it before Microsoft: As you can see here a CAB file with Office Mobile compatible with Office 2007 file formats is available! Since Microsoft is going to release this upgrade itself anyway, chances are that this time Microsoft will not demand removal, as it was in the case of Office Mobile for Windows Mobile 5.0 smartphones... For people who are receiving emails on their Windows Mobile phone and who sometimes receive files also in Office 2007 file formats - after all Office 2007 is on market for a quite long time already - this upgrade/release will make it possible to view/edit at last these documents! On the other hand please remember that Microsoft has promised an official release of an upgrade that will make Office Mobile compatible with Office 2007 file formats, so if you are not in a hurry - you can wait for Microsoft!
