The blogosphere is alive with rumors about an impending Treo 800w release. According to several sources on the net, Verizon will be releasing the Windows Mobile 6 device around September 13. It's said to be a substantial improvement over the Treo 700w. Many are predicting it will have built-in WiFi, a first for Palm.

The rumor appears to have originated in a thread on PDAPhoneHome. That post was deemed sufficiently credible by Engadget to receive a mention (but not headline) on their site. Someone also posted a purportedly leaked road map on HowardsForum showing a Treo 800w with an original release date of August 27 and a revised one of September 13.
