YouTube for Windows Mobile - available now June 17, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. Instead of watching YouTube with a Flash player for Windows Mobile (which isn't possible yet) one can watch YouTube videos now with help of Internet Explorer (just enter "m.youtube.com" in address bar):
... and a streaming application that is included in Windows Mobile phones:
Obviously one must remember that streaming video costs a lot of money if you don't have unlimited data tariff for your phone or an unlimited Wi-Fi connection:
Conclusion: as long as your Windows Mobile phone supports streaming video (like "HTC Touch", "softbank x01ht", "838 pro", "HTC Hermes", etc.) you can just view the video by clicking the thumbnail, and your phone will start to stream and play the video. Streaming is the only way to watch the video; no download function is available. This what YouTube did–– converted the videos to 3GP format and offers it as streams. Unfortunately at this point in time not all YouTube videos are available in such mobile form at m.youtube.com. Most likely, YouTube will complete the conversion soon. More screens and details can be found here. See also: m.youtube.com. Credit: Isomaniac.
