Occasional lock-up renders Toshiba G900 unusable July 09, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Toshiba G900 sounds almost too good to be truth - 800x480 pixels display, fingerprint sensor, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, etc. - but reality shows that it is troubled with software errors that make this phone locking up and users are losing incoming phone calls and can't do anything.
Now it is up to Toshiba and its dealers to show how fast this issue will be resolved. If it will be resolved with big delay or not at all, we have to advice all potential buyers to consider other phone! G900 (just out the factory) has been plagued with coming out of standby issues. I've never had it lock up on me while using it. It's just after you've let it turn the screen off or you've shut it off (not complete power off) that it sometimes just plain wont come out of standby. Interestingly when it's in locked state you can still phone it sort of. The person phoning it gets a ringing tone but the G900 just sits there in off mode, it doesn't ring, flash or vibrate.
