Meet the newly expanded Motorola Q family - with 2 new unborn members August 11, 2007 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Motorola Q family has been growing: CDMA EVDO version for Sprint, CDMA EVDO for Verizon, GSM version, HSDPA version (Q9), new CDMA EVDO version (another Q9).... but apparently yet 2 more are coming soon:
It is a pity that Motorola has removed a scroll wheel from Q9 - the latest generation of Q smartphones - but all other aspects have been improved, including speed transfers (very fast HSDPA, CDMA EVDO) and improved QWERTY keyboard. As a replacement for removed wheel Motorola is apparently offering in Q9 series something like "accelerated scrolling" when down/up buttons are pressed properly. Apart from the missinig wheel (it was there in first generation of Motorola Q and in GSM-only version) also lack of Wi-Fi is annoying.. When it comes to 2 new unreleased (unborn) models of Q family: there is a chance that wheel will be back (note on the right side of an unreleased model a wheel-typical protrusion!) and that at last also Wi-Fi will be available.
