First official confirmation of the first Windows Mobile from HP for 3G / HSDPA - available August 15, 2007 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Outdated, over-sized and lacking 3G, but soon it will all change: ``We will launch a third-generation PDA phone, dubbed the iPAQ 600, late this year through domestic wireless operators such as SK Telecom and KTF,'' an HP Korea spokesman said. HP is expected to make noise with its iPAQ 600 because it is the first smart phone embracing HSDPA, the mobile platform that is gaining steam here. Conclusion: HP is one of major 3-4 PC manufacturers in the world and it is jointly marketing their Windows Mobile devices together with their PC and server equipment, so HP getting serious about Windows Mobile means: big boost for the platform and significantly increased sales! Furthermore choice of HSDPA means that HP is catching up with current state-of-the-art and is not just delivering standard UMTS but the fast version of it - HSDPA.
