HTC Shift UMPC with Windows Mobile and Vista in one device - to be unveiled at Gitex August 28, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. It looks like not only i-mate but also HTC will be releasing/announcing new devices at Gitex 2007 trade show that takes place 8-12 September 2007 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Credit: Saif. * * * * * Conclusion: apart from several announcements that are expected at IFA 2007 consumer electronics show that starts August 31 and takes place in Berlin, EU, also some interesting announcements are expected at Gitex 2007! While at IFA 2007 HTC will not be directly present, but rather represented through mobile operators, it will have however a stand at Gitex 2007! The bold claim of HTC, presented in above mentioned article, that HTC Shift is a "category killer" - meaning: better than all other UMPC devices - is clearly not true however, considering that HTC Shift has no digitizer but just a regular touch-screen with stylus. For comparison's sake: OQO 2 UMPC has genuine digitizer display so that users can place comfortably hand on display, without the fear of interacting with the system, because only digitizer pen is controlling it.
