HTC Cavalier has a problem with .NET applications August 28, 2007 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Existing .net software is incompatible with the cavalier because of a keyboard problem. Some people are returning their device to the distributor because of this problem. More details: For some reason if the application runs on HTC Cavalier, when entering text in the text boxes, for the keys where numbers and text overlap, the text box receives the numbers instead of the letters. The same application works fine on T-Mobile DASH and in the emulators. One difference is that on the Cavalier, the numeric buttons are shifted one key to the right (for example DASH: 1-W, 2-E, 3-R, on Cavalier 1-E, 2-R, 3-T). Same problem occurs on HTC Vox - the keyboard is arranged in a similar manner. To learn more, visit related discussion of this HTC Cavalier problem. Conclusion: do not buy HTC Cavalier (also known as "HTC S630") as long as this issue is not resolved! Credit: indiekiduk.
