Zune phone coming after all September 05, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. When it comes to Zune, Microsoft has no idea what they are doing and the Zune should have never been created, instead they should have focused more on their Windows Mobile market... After initial denials now Microsoft is planning to launch Zune phone after all: "It wouldn't be unreasonable to think at some point there might some integrated thing," Mindy Mount, chief financial officer of Microsoft's entertainment and devices division, told investors at Citigroup's global technology conference in New York. Microsoft has sent mixed signals about the Zune phone. At the time it introduced the Zune last year, the company said a Zune phone was definitely part of its future plans. Earlier this year, Chief Executive Steve Ballmer said at a CEO forum that the Zune phone is not a concept that Microsoft would ever pursue. To learn more click here. Conclusion: Microsoft will be wasting even more resources on Zune instead of focusing on Windows Mobile! To effectively combat competition Microsoft should enable Zune Market place access for Windows Mobile (including wireless one without PC too) and Microsoft should release new version of Windows Mobile with fluid screen effects and multi-touch support. Rationale is simple: iPod touch and iPhone run one and the same operating system and the same platform, but Zune and Windows Mobile are now 2 totally incompatible platforms...
