First official mention of Tilt
September 05, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.

For the first time "AT&T Tilt" is mentioned by HTC:

BlackBerry Connect for the AT&T Tilt
Getting Started Guide

Setting up BlackBerry Internet Service

BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) allows you to send and receive email from an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or other email accounts (POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP). You can integrate your device with up to three BIS accounts. In setting up BBC service, you will not be able to use other email services on the device, such as Good Messaging, Outlook Mobile, or Xpress Mail. If you are not going to set up a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, the set up for BIS is quite simple and you can usually do it all from your device. If you want to set up a BES account, set up the BES account first with your IT department. Then, skip to Setting up Email using BlackBerry Enterprise Server in this section.

Install the software on your device using the wireless network.

Before installing software on your device, check the following:
  • If you use a Windows Mobile password on your device, you will need to disable it. Select Start>Settings>System>Clear Storage. This will erase all data on your phone. So, backup your data to your PC or a microSD card prior to clearing the storage.
  • You will need to have a BlackBerry data plan provisioned on your wireless service.
  • This software has been certified for use on the AT&T Tilt. It should not be used on any other HTC or Windows Mobile devices.
Quotes above come from installation guide of BlackBerry connect for AT&T Tilt - at HTC's own website! AT&T Tilt will be an AT&T-branded version of HTC Kaiser - probably one without the front camera for 3G/UMTS video calling, that is unknown in USA but widely known and used in Europe and Japan.
