InnoPocket Black Deluxe and Metal Deluxe Cases Review for Windows Mobile Treo 750
September 19, 2007 [MS Smartphone] | By Shane Nelson.

This article looks at the positive and negative aspects of new Innodock Treo 750 cases.

Positive

When I received the InnoPocket Black Deluxe and Metal Deluxe cases for the Windows Mobile Treo 750, I was immediately drawn to the smooth aluminum frame. After I finished inserting the screw into the back of the case, I noticed how secure the phone felt on my hip. The phone withstood physical contact quite well and was very well protected when I accidentally dropped it on my hard laminate floor.

The case weighs in at a mere 37 grams and in no way felt bulky or awkward to me, especially compared it to its leather counterparts that I have lying around my office. The inside of the case is made from a soft neoprene lining which also helps to secure the phone. The precise cutouts allow even the heavy duty stylus and camera user easy access to their needed tools.

The bottom of the case has cutouts to allow for easy charging while still in the case. The case also allows for easy access to the keyboard. The metal case comes with a screen protection window that keeps your Treo's LCD screen safe. The door that protects your screen opens easily and when shut, is very secure. The case openings also allow for easy access to the phone's volume buttons as well. The side of the case has added rubber grips on both sides to ensure a secure hold on your phone in most every possible situation that a Treo user could encounter.

Negatives

The case lacks a side door for access to the SD card. This was not a major problem for me but someone who constantly switches cards for music and documents may find it annoying to have to take the phone out of the case to accomplish the task.

The second issue I noticed was that, in areas of very low reception, the case seems to reduce service slightly. For most users -- particularly in major cities -- this will not pose an issue whatsoever. However, I am constantly traveling through very rural areas and need every little bit of reception I can get.

Conclusion

Overall the case is stylish, very durable, and feels comfortable in the hand. With only two minor issues, I believe this case represents a superb choice for consumers who constantly smack their phones into things or are prone to dropping them. It's a sound investment for the Treo user looking to protect the electronic investment!
