HTC TouchFLO Reloaded: John Wang, boss of MAGIC Labs at HTC, demonstrates new features ! October 02, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. John Wang from HTC is a boss of MAGIC Labs division of HTC where TouchFLO technology has been developed and which is working on other technologies that are being used in HTC phones. During HTC press event at Kensington Roof Gardens venue HTC presented new phone with full TouchFLO technology and this time this technology has been enhanced. Previously we have published an interview of John Wang from HTC Taiwan in audio-only but this time he is not just talking but showing in video (much better!!!) how the new features and gestures of HTC TouchFLO in HTC Touch Dual phone are working, particularly the photo viewing application with gestures for zooming-in, zooming-out, scrolling, rotating. Here comes the video with demonstration from the source - the guy who invented HTC TouchFLO technology within HTC: To watch the video, click HERE (in WMV format, suitable also for watching in Windows Mobile phones)... or click Play button in an embedded video player below (feel free to embed this video in your website too!): Conclusion: HTC is constantly improving and innovating. During the demonstration John Wang accurately pointed out that with these zooming-in and zooming-out gestures users get something that is not available in digital cameras - namely zooming to specific part of the image as opposed to zooming to the centre of the image. It is possible that this photo viewing application with gestures for zooming HTC will be embedding also in other phones and offering it as upgrade to existing phones. In any case: when it comes to touch-screen technologies in smartphones with open operating systems, HTC is now market leader! Now let's hope that they will continue innovating... because recently mobile phone industry, all of a sudden, has discovered mobile phones with touch-screen and almost all manufactures will be making such phones and innovating.
