Soundoliers are an unusual accessory to say the least. They are "speaker lamps" that take advantage of your mobile device's multimedia capabilities by receiving music wirelessly via a base station. Soundoliers are self amplified. They have individual controls, though they are intended to be be managed collectively from your smartphone. At the Digital Life consumer electronics conference in New York recently, we caught up with the company on the showroom floor and received a demonstration of the technology on a Palm OS Centro and Windows Mobile enabled device. We were impressed. Perhaps the speakers will hold appeal for offices, dorm rooms, and other places people enjoy electronic toys. Soundoliers launched with an MSRP of $279.
