Live Search for Windows Mobile -- Now with Speech Recognition !! October 16, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. Live Search for Windows Mobile is a strong competitor to Google Maps and it looks like Microsoft keeps on innovating and extending features of this application/service... so it in fact may have more features than competition. Speaking is a lot easier than typing, particularly with small keypads/keyboards of mobile phones and interestingly new Live Search for Windows Mobile has some fascinating new speech recognition features that make it possible: Live Search for Windows Mobile with voice input. The updated Live Search for Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0 will be available for download for free on Tuesday, Oct. 16, and now includes voice input (beta version), gas prices, and hours of operation for businesses. The service can also use Global Positioning System (GPS) data on GPS-enabled phones to provide location-aware local search for customers. To learn more, including videos with demonstration of this speech recognition, visit article about speech recognition in Live Search.
