T-Mobile USA has launched HTC-made Shadow phone
October 30, 2007 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R.
This phone features home screen customization made by Microsoft specifically for T-Mobile USA. As we have discussed it with a Microsoft employee in a podcast: Microsoft is offering such customizations for both manufacturers (example: Samsung i600) and for operators (example: Palm Treo 500v for Vodafone). While these customizations cannot be considered to be a wholly new version of Windows Mobile, they certainly provide a breath of fresh air to Windows Mobile phones.
This phone has "QWERTY-like" keyboard and not a real "QWERTY keyboard" because there are 2 letters on each key and not one letter per one key. All in all: a nice low-end 2G phone:
Features:
- Slide out QWERTY-like keypad
- Speakerphone
- Voice-activated calling
- Stereo Bluetooth
- Direct access to multiple personal and work e-mail accounts
- Four instant-messaging clients built in: Windows Live Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and ICQ
- 2.6 inch display, 320 x 240 pixels, 65k QVGA GSM/GPRS/EDGE/Wi-Fi display.
- Micro SD expansion slot supporting up to 4 GB of optional removable memory
- Quad-band world phone (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
- Windows Mobile 6
