HTC TyTn II reviewed - Comparison with SiRF star III November 23, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Everybody knows that nowadays the most sensitive chipset for GPS receivers is SiRF Star III but one of the best Windows Mobile phones on the market - HTC Kaiser (sold also as HTC TyTN II, AT&T Tilt, etc.) doesn't have it. So the question is: how good is built-in GPS in HTC Kaiser compared to the best one on the market? Having said that, what matters at this point is the GPS performance of the Kaiser compared to a GPS PDAPhone like the Mio A501 based on the reference SiRFStarIII chipset. The results are mixed with lower performance in pedestrian use (with Static Navigation deactivated on the A501) both in dense urban environments and in more open sites, but it remains usable and in driving mode it performs on par with the A501, except in extreme environments like underground sections, To read more, click HERE (and then click on hardly visible links to next pages of the review).
