For Game Developers: EDGELIB SDK 3.30 released with Threaded Bluetooth Search and XML Parsing November 29, 2007 [General] | By Edward J. R. You are developing games, particularly 3D games, then this library is something for you. While it is a multi-platform library, a version for Windows Mobile is also offered. Information from the vendor follows. * * * * * Elements Interactive B.V. releases version 3.30 of multi-platform mobile game engine EDGELIB. This new version adds threaded Bluetooth search and XML parsing to the feature list. Already present for Symbian, EDGELIB 3.30 adds Bluetooth searching using a thread for Windows Mobile devices and Windows desktop. The addition of threaded search improves the responsiveness of the application while searching for a nearby Bluetooth device to connect to. EDGELIB 3.30 also introduces a native XML parser for processing documents formatted with the open standard Extensible Markup Language. An additional class on top of the XML parser handles XML-RPC requests enabling EDGELIB to process webservice calls. EDGELIB 3.30 also introduces support for the first version of EDGELIB's native E3D 3D file format, an extensible, chunk-based binary format for storing 3D models, specially for mobile devices. A tool to convert popular 3D models to the E3D format will be made available too. To learn more, including full list of improvements in the new version, click HERE. Credit: Wouter ten Brink.
