The first dual-SIM Windows Mobile phone is on sale: review of PC Dubao N868 published December 31, 2007 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. We have been reporting about dual-SIM Windows Mobile phone already previously (see HERE) but this one has much more interesting form factor - QWERTY keyboard for single handed usage combined with touch-screen (the form factor that HTC refuses to manufacture but that is extremely popular as BlackBerry and Treo smartphones prove) ... and is already on sale (albeit in China only)! In several countries, mostly in Asia and Europe, having 2 SIM cards for 2 mobile phones is extremely popular and there is big demand for dual-SIM phones! While by now such phones were available only as regular no-name phones made in China and available through unofficial imports, now also first Windows Mobile phones with dual SIM card slots are coming, but there is a catch: For every time you want to use one of the cards you will need to select it and the device will soft-reset then the other one will be inactive. This is not an advantage of having this dual SIM Pocket PC if you cannot use them both in the same time, I guess this will work if you are too lazy to change SIM cards and rather keep one permanently in your phone as storage area! ;-) Let’s go to final conclusion… To read the review, including photos and screen shots, click HERE. Conclusion: there are now several no-name regular (non-smartphone) phones on the market that have ability to use 2 SIM cards at the same time (users can get phone calls and make phone calls from both SIM cards), but the PC Dubao N868 doesn't have this ability - user can use only one SIM card at once. While having 2 SIM card slots is a progress, lack of ability to run 2 SIM cards at the same time (as some regular phones already can) makes it pretty much useless...
