HTC Asia adds Yahoo! Go to their phones
January 09, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R.

We remember times when Yahoo was denying any desire to even make Yahoo Go for Windows Mobile at all, and this mobile set of applications was available only for Symbian phones, but now it looks like Yahoo is very interested in Windows Mobile phones indeed...

Information from HTC follows.

HTC Asia Adds New Service to its Phones

Yahoo! Go Mobile Internet Service Goes Live Today

HTC Corp., the world’s leading provider of Microsoft Windows Mobile smart devices has made it possible for its phone models to access the Internet using Yahoo! Go. To bring its users a more convenient and varied mobile internet experience, HTC and Yahoo will also launch consumer activities to promote this platform to a wider range of existing HTC phone users.

From today, HTC users can go to HTC eClub to download the “Yahoo! Go” application thereby replicating the Yahoo Internet experience onto your HTC phones. In addition, users can synchronize your Yahoo personal settings onto the phone, meaning all Yahoo settings will automatically be synchronized to your HTC phone. Yahoo! Go provides many Internet services including web browsing, email, various entertainment, sports and business news feeds, as well as a quick launcher to access Flickr, an online photo sharing site. Yahoo oneSearch redefines web searching on a phone, giving you instant answers – exactly what you need, when you are on the go.

“HTC has always placed consumers’ needs as our first consideration. Besides continuous development by the HTC team, we also actively seek third party phone platform services to integrate with our phones. This collaboration between HTC Asia and Yahoo is a great experience. In future, HTC will continue to observe consumers’ needs to plan our development directions, so as to provide our customers with a more convenient and mobile lifestyle,” said Jack Tong, VP of HTC Asia.

HTC Asia and Yahoo have jointly introduced promotional activities to entice and reward. From 31 December 2007 to 28 January 2008, every eligible HTC user who successfully downloads the “Yahoo Go!” application from the HTC eClub will stand a chance to win a HTC Touch and other great prizes. To participate in the campaign, users have to be owner of any of the following devices from HTC or Dopod International: HTC Touch, HTC Touch Dual, HTC TyTN II, HTC P3600i, D810, C800 and C720w.
