CES 2008 video report: interview with Jef Holove - CEO of EyeFi January 24, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. EyeFi at first glance looks like a regular 2GB SD card but it has built-in WiFi and ability to upload photos to Internet - when you put this card into your camera (it can be any camera, no need to buy special one). This special SD card costs only 99 USD so it is not expensive. Theoretically this SD card with WiFi could work with Windows Mobile - after all one can set the target directory for photos taken with built-in camera to memory card too! It's only pity that it is not available in miniSD and microSD formats... Here is the video interview: Here is how this card looks like:
... and here is short summary about it: The Eye-Fi Card comes with everything needed to make it simple to set up and connect to your home Wi-Fi network. After that, pop the card into your digital camera and start capturing those memories. It stores pictures like a regular SD card no matter where you are, and uploads your photos automatically as soon as you return to your home network. All you have to do is turn the camera on. To learn more, visit official website of EyeFi. Please note: there are many programs for Windows Mobile that serve the same purpose of this card - automatic photo uploading - so by having your Windows Mobile in fact you can have such functionality too!
