Vaporware news: Windows Mobile outperforms iPhone thanks to Skyfire browser January 28, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. At DEMO conference Skyfire company and product - mobile Internet browser - have been launched. Skyfire promises a browser superior to that of iPhone and such that would also support full Flash, i.e. watching YouTube and other Flash-based websites would become possible. Unfortunately despite our attempts to get Skyfire for independent testing we have not managed to get it at all! All that is promised are in-person demonstrations in California, USA or a remote demonstration through video Skype call. Since we cannot get a working copy of this program and thus we can't evaluate how, if it all, it works and whether it uses intermediary servers, etc. etc. ... we must conclude that it is just another vaporware product ... that in reality may never materialize as a commercial product. Here is a cut-to-the-chase description of this browser: The gist of the news is that Skyfire wil launch itself as a company along with its self named downloadable mobile browser at DEMO. The browser is unique because it is the world's first browser to do Flash and ajax in addition to many other forms of embedded media associated with web 2.0. It offers a PC like browsing experience and plays video and audio from sites like YouTube like you've never seen before on a mobile browser. It also loads pages in seconds over wifi or a fast connection. To learn more visit official website of Skyfire. Credit: Jeff Koo, Nick Leahy from sparkpr, USA.
