Video Review: HTC Manila - a successor to HTC TouchFLO ? February 01, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Apple iPhone is now on the market and Microsoft is not innovating fast enough, so manufacturers of Windows Mobile phones are forced to innovate themselves. Firstly HTC has released HTC TouchFLO for their HTC Touch line of devices and then they improved it by adding gestures to picture viewer. Here we are video-reviewing another HTC software extension to Windows Mobile - HTC Manila (probably a code-name only): Please note that this application requires a Windows Mobile phone with VGA display and additional 2 DLL files. It looks like now it is not usable but rather a proof of concept. It runs painfully slow but probably the reason lies in this, that it requires some hardware acceleration (and not just implementation in software) of graphic functions. The fact that HTC has prepared this application for VGA displays could indicate that soon some pocket-size Windows Mobile phone from HTC may be coming - by now all HTC phones with VGA display were big like a brick...
