Mobile World Congress 2008: Nokia phones powered by Windows Mobile coming February 07, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. For the first time since many years (and we were there on location for several years already) apart from boss of Windows Mobile (as usual) also higher manager will be present during Microsoft's press conference on Monday next week at Mobile World Congress 2008 (known formerly as "3GSM")! ... so apart from Pieter Knook, Senior Vice President Mobile Communications Business, also Robbie Bach, President Entertainment and Devices Division (that includes both Windows Mobile and Xbox), will be present! Even when Microsoft was unveiling new major versions of Windows Mobile, like Windows Mobile 6, only Pieter Knook was present at main press conference of Microsoft at that event each year, but next week, when only minor version upgrade (Windows Mobile 6.1) is being announced, a higher manager (Robbie Bach) is present. Why? Because Microsoft will announce cooperation with Nokia and Windows Mobile phones made by Nokia are coming: ... in reality it is still a speculation but it has been recently reinforced by the following words of John Starkweather from Microsoft: We work closely with Nokia and we would love to have them go all the way. It’s something we talk about all the time. To read more visit original source of this story about Windows Mobile phones made by Nokia. Conclusion: it is too early to say that Nokia will be making Windows Mobile phones any time soon, but 2 things are for certain: Nokia internally was running Windows CE (with use of Platform Builder tool) on some of their phones - for testing purposes, it has know-how for sure... and secondly: such move would be wise particularly in the huge American market, where Symbian is not particularly popular, but Nokia phones powered by Windows Mobile would certainly sell there well!
