HISTORICAL video recording of Sony Ericsson FIRST TIME EVER announcing Windows Mobile phone February 11, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. A couple years ago Sony Ericsson's PR manager from London sent lawyers against us because we dared to publish April Fool's joke that Sony Ericsson is releasing Windows Mobile phone. We had to remove that joke or face lawsuit. Since we are 1.5 months away from the April Fool's day, the reality is settling in: that what we once published as a joke now is very much real and marks huge breakthrough for Windows Mobile. Since we were there on location, when Sony Ericsson for the first time ever mentioned in public that it is releasing Windows Mobile phone, here we present videos of this historical event (plus a bonus: demonstration of this phone by its Global Product Manager - Magnus Andersson)! Firstly comes the part when Windows Mobile was mentioned for the first time ever (!!!) near the end of the press event: ... and here comes the part, where Sony Ericsson is answering questions from the press and most of these questions are about their new Windows Mobile phone: ... and here is the promised bonus video with Magnus Andersson from Sony Ericsson demonstrating X1 in action: And so the saga of Sony Ericsson mobile phones powered by Windows Mobile begins... and don't worry: no need to wait for Windows Mobile phones from Nokia, because it will never ever happen. Now, when even Sony Ericsson is making Windows Mobile phones, you have no excuse and you should get one too! Whether it would be the new fantastic Samsung i780 (kind-of Mercedes) or some HTC/GIGA-BYTE/E-TEN phone (kind-of Volkswagen) or the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 (kind-of Porsche) - there is something for everybody now.
