Mobile World Congress 2008: imate alive and kicking !
February 14, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R.

Our accusation that i-mate is on the verge of bankruptcy (based on an article from Financial Times) was wrong. We apologize for that! It looks like i-mate is doing OK.

Here is a demonstration of i-mate Ultimate phones by Dale Coffing from i-mate:

... and generally at Mobile World Congress 2008 i-mate not only had its own pavillion but also a stand next to Microsoft's stand:

... and i-mate placed big (2 whole pages) advertisements inside of the daily trade show newspaper and on the walls inside of the congress:

i-mate offers now the following phones from Ultimate series: 2 phones with XGA display output (6150 and 8150) and 2 phones with GPS and VGA display output (8502 and 9502). All of them have 3.5G and WiFi. All of them except for 8502 have VGA display.

Conclusion: it is safe to buy i-mate phones because they are not going out of business any time soon.
