Mobile World Congress 2008: video interview with Access Japan about NetFront 3.5 browser February 16, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Here we present an interview with 2 Japanese (!) employees of a Japanese company Access, that got rich thanks to sales of their mobile Internet browser to many manufacturers of mobile phones (not just for smartphone makers, but mainly to regular phone producers). Access also purchased PalmSource company and is developing a mobile OS called ALP (Access Linux Platform). Interestingly Access also makes a browser for Windows Mobile with touch-screens - NetFront - and it looks like the new version apart from usability improvements will bring also something unique: Flash Lite 3 included on board!!! As we learned from interview with CEO of Opera, the new Opera Mobile 9.5 browser for Windows Mobile will not be including Flash Lite 3 but it will be working with it, if it was previously installed in given phone. Since most phones powered by Windows Mobile don't have Flash Lite 3 and Adobe doesn't offer it to individuals, it means practically that Opera Mobile 9.5 will not offer support of Flash in Windows Mobile! Fortunately Japanese company Access, that around summer this year will release commercial version of their NetFront 3.5 browser (now available in a limited concept version) has intention (see the video below for a proof!) to include Flash Lite 3 with their browser what means in practice: ability to watch full YouTube videos and to use many other web-based Flash applications. Here is the video interview with Access:
