Mobile World Congress 2008: video interview with Makayama company February 18, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. Makayama is a company located in Netherlands, EU. One of the best known Makayama applications are programs for Windows XP/Vista that convert your movies from DVD to video files viewable in your Windows Mobile phone (including subtitles!). Makayama offers also software directly running in Windows Mobile like Pocket WiFi Radar (for free) and Pocket Live TV. Despite having Japanese-sounding name, Makayama is owned by a Dutchman - Vincent Verwey, whom we are interviewing here: ... and here is the video demonstration of some selected products: As you could see in above videos Makayama was showing at Mobile World Congress, among others, a totally new approach to mobile TV, for Windows Mobile and 250 other devices (also Symbian/Java): you don’t need a TV-tuner, it works on all devices with 3G or WiFi.
