Microsoft again neglects Windows Mobile : XNA game development for Zune announced February 20, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. This is beyond pathetic! Not only there is no Silverlight for Windows Mobile although it was released for Mac OS and Linux, but now the XNA game development kit available by now for PC and Xbox, is coming to Zune - Microsoft's media player - but not for Windows Mobile: Chris Satchell who is from game development group at Microsoft has just today announced that XNA tools will very soon be able to make games also for Zune! Not for Windows Mobile however - although in past such announcemens were made. Larry Hryb known as "Major Nelson" who is also working for Microsoft in area of Xbox Live and apparently also in evengalization of Xbox, has just announced with big proud: XNA game development for Zune is coming. Windows Mobile? Nobody (at Microsoft) cares. While Zune is obviously positioned as a consumer device, Windows Mobile still is perceived in the mobile phone industry as an enterprise-only device, and Microsoft is doing NOTHING to contradict this damaging perception: no access to Zune Marketplace (music store) from Windows Mobile, no XNA gaming for Windows Mobile, no Silverlight for Windows Mobile...
