MSN Direct for Windows Mobile Technology Preview available now April 02, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. Some time ago Microsoft had announced that it would make a version of it's MSN direct service available for smartphones. The service is now available. For the uninitiated: MSN Direct is a service that was originally made for the Microsoft SPOT watches to allow them to receive information such as messages, news information, traffic data, stocks, and more. The service was later expanded to publish data to GPS receivers and home appliances. For all of these devices the data was sent over low frequency FM radio for a subscription fee. For smart phones the service if free (ofcourse you must pay your own data charges). We've not been able to try it out as it doesn't work on some phones, but you can download it by navigating to phone.msndirect.com/dl on your smart phone. More information can be found at http://phone.msndirect.com. Credit: Joel Johnson.
