Samsung is offering phones in this form factor - big touch-screen and no keyboard - already for some time, but Samsung i900 being powered by Windows Mobile is a surprise (note the green arrows):
Some highlights about this phone:
- powered by Windows Mobile 6.1
- 5 megapixel camera
- dimensions: 112 x 56 x 13 mm
- (uncertain yet) display resolution: 240x320 (QVGA)
- WiFi
- tri-band GSM, GPRS, UMTS (no mention of HSDPA and EDGE?)

Conclusion: the competition in "touch-screen-only" phones is heating up and on May 6 also HTC will announce new Windows Mobile phone in this category combined with new version of HTC TouchFLO (known under code name "HTC Manila"). Clearly final specifications of Samsung i900 are yet not known in full and 5 megapixel camera sounds promising but if it will have no GPS and display of resolution lower than 640x480 it may not be able to compete with HTC products. Furthermore Samsung's insistence on using proprietary USB and headset connectors is putting people off...
