HTC wants more brand recognition in USA April 22, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. While in Europe one could encounter big advertisements of HTC in various magazines and other places already previously, now HTC is spending millions of dollars to promote HTC brand also in USA! Even though many Americans have been using HTC-manufactured phones like AT&T Tilt or Spring Mogul, only few American mobile phone users know of existence of HTC. Obviously advertising in printed press, outdoor billboards and TV is fine, but it is all old media and HTC maybe should consider spending money on advertising online - on mobility websites and podcasts too? More information: "We're clearly in the middle of a brand evolution here," Jason MacKenzie, vice president of HTC America, told Dow Jones Newswires Monday. "We made a conscious decision to take a step forward to broaden the reach of HTC, particularly in the mass market." HTC plans to spend "several millions of dollars" on an advertising campaign in print, TV, and posters and billboards in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, with a more push for more nationwide attention online. The campaign will run through July. To learn more visit the original story from Dow Jones.
