May 6th, 2008 - big day for Horace Luke from HTC ? May 03, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. The motto of the HTC event that takes place in London, UK, on Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 is "Witness the next wave of HTC Innovation". So it looks like it will be big day for Chief Innovation Officer at HTC: Horace Luke! Who is Horace Luke? Horace Luke before joining HTC in November 2006 was working at Microsoft on Windows Mobile 7 (code-name: Windows Mobile Photon). Previously he was working in Microsoft on design issues of Windows XP and Xbox. Before Microsoft he was working at Nike corporation as specialist in image and branding. Horace Luke is educated in industrial design at University of Washington. Design was topic of his work at Nike, Microsoft and now HTC, where he works on the position "Chief Innovation Officer" but is located in Seattle area, not in Taiwan, where HTC corporation is headquartered. On May 6th, HTC, apart from new phone models, will be presenting next generation of HTC TouchFLO (code-name: "HTC Manila") - a software-mainly extension of Windows Mobile that improves finger-based navigation and usability... and probably, just probably, Horace Luke will be present there! The question however remains: will innovation in design be enough to beat competition? ... or maybe HTC needs innovation in hardware too: multi-touch !!!???
