Yet another review of HTC Touch Diamond published June 16, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. It is yet another review made in USA with European model so 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) was not tested and thus this review is incomplete and the information about battery life is not reliable... Many parts of the new user interface design seem to be intentionally confusing. Ambiguous unlabeled icons are found throughout TouchFLO 3D, Opera Mobile 9.5, YouTube, and the Camera Album. While this may make things easier to use and cleaner-looking since you don't have to spell out functions, it also makes the whole thing more difficult to learn. An option for showing labels or tool-tips on icons should be turned on by default. A lot of the lists in the new TouchFLO 3D applications don't have any indication of scrolling capabilities. There are no scroll bars that you can quickly drag to the bottom of the list and there are no visual cues as to how long the list is. This makes for greatly reduced usability when trying to find something, say in the Applications list. Most of these lists don't employ text based search filtering (like in the Inbox, Contacts, and Media Player apps), so trying to find something is made even more difficult. This is best seen in the Library view for the TouchFLO 3D audio manager, as well as the "Add City" applet for the Weather panel. To learn more, visit review of HTC Touch Diamond - it features a lot of photos and screen-shots so it is worth viewing. Author is also critical about various issues with HTC Touch Diamond so it may be considered as rather reliable review. However reviewing 3G phone without testing 3G but using only EDGE (2G) is like test-driving a Porsche car and driving only 10 miles per hour...
