Toshiba Portege G810 review published July 03, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. G810 is a rather mediocre phone with horrible battery life, but Spb integrations are good. It also has GPS and HSDPA but low resolution display (240x320) is disappointing. This review is very detailed by fails to mention which version of HSDPA this phone supports (1.8, 3.6 or 7.2?). Interesting feature of this phone is a built-in OCR software that converts photos into text: Pretty cool - the G810 has built in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) through the camera. It allows you to take a picture of a business card, have it converted to text, then saved as a contact. Or you can take a picture of a magazine or newspaper and save it as a Word document. I found the business card function to be poor (because it didn't accurately decipher the text and correspond it to the right contact card fields), but for capturing other text... ...it works pretty darn well. If I were to take a picture of a paragraph in full and with better lighting, I think it would have converted it properly. To learn more visit Toshiba Portege G810 review. Credit: js.
