Lead Program Manager of Windows Live gets iPhone 3G, does not care about Windows Mobile July 15, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Mike Torres is a Senior Lead Program Manager of Windows Live - Microsoft's online services. Microsoft pays his wages but he prefers iPhone over Windows Mobile! He also boasts that iPhone 3G has addressed issues that were a problem in older version - i.e. he is de facto evangelizing iPhone 3G despite being higher level manager at Microsoft: I couldn’t synchronize with Exchange over the air (ADDRESSED) Couldn’t swap the battery out for a better one The EDGE network was/is so slow to be unusable (ADDRESSED) It was a closed platform (ADDRESSED) It was ridiculously, insanely expensive (ADDRESSED) It was a v1 from a company that’s never built a phone before (ADDRESSED) Functionally, it didn’t do more than my current phone (ADDRESSED) Conclusion: maybe Microsoft should give up on Windows Mobile if it even fails to convince their own employees? We also hope that Microsoft will not release Zune phone because it would alienate many Windows Mobile manufacturers, that would then jump the ship to Symbian and Google Android ... Finally: how Microsoft wants to convince end users to buy Windows Mobile phones if their own employees evangelize and promote main competitor?
