Microsoft clones iPhone App Store : meet Skymarket - Windows Mobile app store ! August 31, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. Developers are moving massively away from Windows Mobile towards iPhone software development through which they earn literally (!) 10-100 times more money. One of the reasons why iPhone software business is so profitable is existence of Apple iPhone App Store which is an application inside of iPhone and embedded in iTunes also, and through which iPhone users in the whole world can buy and download applications. Since Microsoft's innovation level is very low in Windows Mobile area (where is multi-touch in Windows Mobile? if it will not be supported in Windows Mobile 7 then Microsoft should fire whole Windows Mobile division!) it is good to see that at least by copying main competitor Microsoft is trying to "innovate": Somebody has found in job descriptions at Microsoft information about an upcoming application store for Windows Mobile software: Job Title: Senior Product Manager - Skymarket This is a unique opportunity and time of rapid change in the mobile industry for a Senior Product Manager in the Mobile Communications Services team to drive the launch of a v1 marketplace service for Windows Mobile.
