Windows Mobile 7 will have multi-touch after all ! September 12, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Mary-Jo Foley, who is a journalist working for ZDNET full-time is specializing in covering all things about Microsoft and she even wrote a book about Microsoft 2.0 (i.e. future of Microsoft) so she should be a reliable source, but we have doubts... She writes about Windows 7, i.e. operating system for PC computers that will replace Vista in future, and by the way she mentions Windows Mobile 7: While both the Surface and Windows 7 (as well as Windows Mobile 7) are all going to be Microsoft multi-touch showcases, I never really connected the dots between the work being done by the Surface team and the Windows 7 team. But given the initial Surface prototype systems were built on top of Windows Vista, it makes sense the next generation Surfaces will run on Windows 7. To learn more visit related story about multi-touch at Microsoft. Commentary: it would be huge mistake on part of Microsoft not to include native multi-touch support in Windows Mobile 7, so it is good to see some unofficial confirmations that multi-touch is coming in Windows Mobile 7. If not: Microsoft might as well fire all employees of Windows Mobile division.
