Tim McDonough from Microsoft claims that new IE for Windows Mobile will come in 2008 September 12, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. It is hard to believe for us and we think that it is absolutely not true, because the reality is that new Internet Explorer (the one with full-PC-class rendering engine and Flash) is coming next year when it will be bundled with Windows Mobile 7. To release this new browser this year would mean that Microsoft should offer it what separate download what is unrealistic knowing how difficult it is to push updates from Microsoft, through manufacturers, through mobile operators, to end users. In other words: Tim McDonough lies, when he says: The biggest benefit will be the fact that it is the full IE 6 rendering engine, meaning that any page that renders properly in IE 6 on the PC should do just fine on Windows Mobile. Tim McDonough, a senior director in Microsoft's Windows Mobile unit, showed me the browser running the standard MSN home page. McDonough didn't offer much of an update on timing for IE 6, except to say that "it's still this year" To learn more visit original source of this story about Tim McDonough. Note: Microsoft has promised the release of that new version of IE in March 2008 saying "it is coming in 6 months" but 6+3 = 9 what means: it should be released NOW... but obviously it is not. Neither this month, nor this year.
