WiMax version of HTC Touch HD sighted in Russian language

Russia more important for HTC than USA, that is not getting HTC Touch HD at all? It is even more stranger because this phone offers not only GSM for phone calling but also WiMax, that is in operation also in USA:



More information:
  • it is branded for Russian operator Yota (it operates in Moscow - the biggest city of Europe, bigger even than London, and in Sankt-Petersburg)
  • speeds with WiMax are above 10 megabits/second - faster than 7.2 megabits/second possible in HSDPA (note: WiMax is limited to cities usually, while HSDPA covers whole countries)
  • all other specifications the same as HTC Touch HD, i.e. huge display 800x480 pixels, etc.

Updated: see also specifications of this HTC T8290 aka HTC Touch HD with WiMax - it looks like this phone has both HSDPA/3G and WiMax!

What is WiMax? It is a technology similar to WiFi however in most countries one must have a license to operate it and it offers much bigger range than WiFi - several miles!
