Silverlight 2 released, Windows Mobile STILL missing in action
October 13, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R.
Microsoft again neglects Windows Mobile by releasing second major version of Silverlight (Microsoft Flash) but still not releasing it for Windows Mobile. Is anybody at Microsoft's higher management even interested in Windows Mobile?
Microsoft Corp. today announced the availability of Silverlight 2, one of the industry’s most comprehensive and powerful solutions for the creation and delivery of applications and media experiences through a Web browser. Silverlight 2 delivers a wide range of new features and tools that enable designers and developers to better collaborate while creating more accessible, more discoverable and more secure user experiences.
Annoyingly even Apple Mac OS X is more important for Microsoft than Windows Mobile because Microsoft even supports old version of Mac OS X but no version of Windows Mobile: supported operating systems are:
- Windows Vista
- Windows XP SP2
- Windows 2000
- Windows Server 2003 (excluding IA-64)
- Mac OS 10.4.8+ (PowerPC) -
- Mac OS 10.4.8+ (Intel-based)
