Obscure plugin for Windows Mobile - Pointui - becomes official UI for Bell Canada November 05, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. There are plenty of 3rd party plugins that place more user-friendly user interface on top of Windows Mobile and we would never suspect that a small company can score such a big deal! Pointui has managed to get a deal with Bell Canada, to make user interface for Windows Mobile phones sold at this carrier. Bell Canada has even launched special website devoted to Pointui user interface for Windows Mobile. It is absolutely amazing to observe that a carrier has picked Pointui over offerings from HTC (HTC Touch TouchFLO) and from Microsoft (Microsoft offers customizations for operators too). More background info about Pointui: After grinding our teeth with enterprise mobile systems, we came to the conclusion that end users need applications that focus on usability, performance and consistency. Pointui (pronounced point-you-i) has been built from the ground up and sets the benchmark in pioneering the delivery of total user experience, never before achieved on a Windows Mobile device. Our main focus is structured around simplicity and usability while extracting the most out of your current Windows Mobile device. All products we develop forge stability and dependability while maximising performance. Commentary: by now it was established companies like Spb that were delivering customizations for operators and manufacturers, but is amazing to see that also newcomers venture into this area!
