Yet another, very detailed, review of HTC Touch HD published November 09, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. The author of this review was considering to switch from iPhone to HTC Touch HD (he was talking about it in the latest episode of our Windows Mobile podcast) but apparently he cannot, not because of HTC, but because of Microsoft: Now to the crunch, the same old problems still remain in my opinion and it’s not HTC’s fault but Microsoft’s. HTC have pushed the boundary’s as far as possible with this device and given Windows Mobile diehards a device that they will no doubt love, but I don’t think it is going to be enough for me. If you want this device as a business phone, the Outlook integration is unmatched on any other platform no question and the telephony is brilliant, but if your after a device to access your media easily then that is a whole different ball game. Windows Mobile just does not do a good enough job at organising and synching your media or allowing easy access to it at this moment in time in my opinion. Commentary: HTC Touch HD is the best Windows Mobile phone of all times, however due to Microsoft's slow progress in mobile operating system development, people who are used to simple way of handling media, still have difficulties with it. Note however that iPhone cannot be used as USB logical memory drive (as most Windows Mobile phones now) and one must use iTunes at PC or Mac to copy any files to iPhone - while it is perceived by some people (Windows Mobile users!) as a limitation, for some other people iTunes makes life esier. While Microsoft has something like iTunes already, including podcasting support, however it is not used in Windows Mobile - it is the Zune software!
