Facebook for Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 but not for Windows Mobile - released November 21, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. There is nothing worse than fragmentation of platform! Here Sony Ericsson releases Facebook panel for X1 but still there is no original Facebook application for Windows Mobile available: Facebook Panel The Facebook Panel for X1 makes it easy to stay connected and share information with your friends. Check your friends status , walls and latest photos, set your own status and upload your own photos taken by the X1 camera. Direct download link is here: Facebook panel. See also: other "panels" available for X1 - as of now only six (6) - clearly fragmentation does not pay off. Commentary: while it is understandable that manufacturer wants to preserve its investment by releasing software only for their own handsets, it is too bad that it causes fragmentation of Windows Mobile platform - something that probably would be impossible in the case of Google Android. At least it is good to see that Sony Ericsson adds some value-added features to their Windows Mobile phone...
