Skype 2.5 for Windows Mobile released December 10, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. It promises improved voice quality (among other things)! We have tested it already: 
Skype writes about Windows Mobile version of Skype client: Based on feedback from you guys, our Mobile team have overhauled Skype for Windows Mobile and released Beta 2.5. It features improved sound quality, better stability and a more familiar user interface. Note: there is no native original Skype for iPhone and no Skype for Symbian - only 3rd party applications, that use intermediary servers and sometimes unreliable tricks to get Skype calls. The Skype for Windows Mobile is original Skype production and has also many other features that 3rd party Skype clients simply don't have. In other words: if you want to use Skype on your mobile phone, then Windows Mobile is the best platform for it! It is worth mentioning also, that there are separate versions of Skype for Windows Mobile with (Pocket PC) and without (Smartphone) touchscreens!
