Palm launches App Store for Windows Mobile! December 16, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Great news! Instead of waiting for Microsoft's Skymarket, Palm is launching "Software Store", including a program through which it is possible to browse and purchase applications inside of the phone, also for Windows Mobile: The Software Store has gone mobile. Browse and download over 5,000 apps & games right from your Palm device. Plus, there are over 1,000 free apps to choose from. The mobile software store supports over 25 Palm devices1, from the Centro to the Treo Pro. All of this is just a click away — install the free mobile software store and choose from thousands of apps ready to download now! The store is being powered by PocketGear but it indeed is an in-device application store comparable to Apple iPhone App Store and we are happy that such thing has been created - it will help a lot of Windows Mobile developers!... although the split of revenues is not as good as at Apple: only 50%/50% compared to 70% of revenues that developers get at Apple iPhone App Store.
