Windows Mobile is the most popular platform for video streaming from cellphones December 16, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. Qik offers a free social networking and video blogging service that allows users to stream video from their cell phones to the Internet. Co-founder of Qik reveals that in USA Windows Mobile is the most popular platform among Qik users, who are streaming video from their cellphones to the Internet: Which platform is proving to be the most popular for Qik so far? That depends very much on a country level. Here in US we are seeing more Windows Mobile, iPhone and BlackBerry adoption. Overall I’d say that Windows Mobile, S60, iPhone are the leaders. Apparently Qik intends to extend number of Windows Mobile phones supported: Then on top of that add other platforms Windows Mobile (which has its own variants of PocketPC vs smartphone and from different manufacturers that have their own specs). Note: since standard Windows Mobile API does not support live capture, developers have to use proprietary API and that is why not all Windows Mobile phones are supported.
