CEO of Microsoft to speak at Mobile World Congress 2009 + related micro-site launched December 31, 2008 [General] | By Edward J. R. Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, very rarely comes to Mobile World Congress event (formerly known as 3GSM and located in Cannes, EU; now located in Barcelona, EU), but this time he will be there, and not only in some generic mobile operator session, but at Microsoft press conference, that is usually "the event" where major new announcements about Windows Mobile are made! What does it mean? Major announcement must be coming from Microsoft then! ![]() (on photo above - taken by our reporter: Steve Ballmer at Mobile World Congress 2006 - the last time he visited this event - at that time it was called yet "3GSM") More info: Come hear the latest from Microsoft at the press conference hosted by Steve Ballmer on February 16, 2009, at 3:00 P.M. (UTC/GMT +1). Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will highlight the company’s latest innovations and partnerships, as well as share insights on the company’s strategies and approaches that will enable more opportunities for mobile operators and device manufacturers to deliver exciting solutions for consumers and mobile workers. As the Senior Vice President of the Mobile Communications Business (MCB) at Microsoft, Andy Lees is responsible for the development, marketing, and sales of software that powers mobile phones and personal digital assistants. Lees will host the Microsoft Press Conference on February 16, 2009. As you can see above there is a little bit contradiction in Microsoft's own descriptions as both Steve Ballmer and Andy Less are mentioned as hosts of the press conference! Note: we will be there on location in Barcelona since 15 till 17 February, so stay tuned for our first-hand reports!
